Full Job Description DUTIES :

Peer Recovery Support Specialist will: Advocate for individuals in receiving services Connect individuals receiving services with community resources Assist individuals with daily living skills-building Support attendance in therapeutic/substance use recovery groups Attend and participate in ACT team meetings as scheduled Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designee

QUALIFICATIONS

: The Peer Recovery Support Specialist is or has been a recipient of mental health services for severe and persistent mental health illness or is currently in recovery from substance use. The Peer Support Specialist will be trained, as approved by DBHDS, having completed all requirements. The Peer Support Recovery Specialist will collaborate with other members of the ACT team to provide comprehensive supportive services to participants in the program. Possession of a current, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Must submit and pass criminal and central registry background checks. Understanding of substance use recovery stages of change. Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse interventions; Knowledge of and adherence to basic ethics appropriate for a helping relationship; Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Knowledge of Community-Based Mental Health Services Knowledge of all Agency Policies and Procedures Effective Communication Skills Ability to Adhere to Documentation Deadlines Ability to work effectively individually and as a team member

Pay:

$22.00 - $26.00 per hour
