Responsibilities Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities, assisting with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors in accordance with individualized plans Assist with communication needs using tools such as American Sign Language or other augmentative communication methods Support individuals in engaging with their community through transportation, social activities, and outings Collect and document data related to progress, behavior incidents, medication administration, and other relevant information to ensure accurate record-keeping Administer medications safely following prescribed protocols and document all medication-related activities Collaborate with families, behavioral health professionals, social workers, and educators to develop and implement personalized care plans Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety standards and reporting any concerns promptly Qualifications Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or related conditions is highly preferred Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices is advantageous Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus Demonstrated ability in behavior management and caregiving techniques Home and community care experience is desirable; familiarity with assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and feeding Ability to drive safely for transportation purposes; valid driver's license required Experience in data collection, medication administration, social work practices or child care is beneficial Compassionate attitude with excellent interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with individuals served and their families Join us in making a meaningful difference!
