We provide comprehensive, person-centered care for individuals with mental health challenges in a supportive and therapeutic environment. Our 16-bed facility offers a unique, collaborative approach to treatment that involves various healthcare professionals working together to assist residents in their recovery journey. The IBHTF model is designed to provide intensive services for individuals who need more specialized care than traditional outpatient services, but less intensive than inpatient psychiatric care. Our goal is to help each resident develop coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and achieve a better quality of life.
Position Summary:
Aristo Behavioral Health is seeking an Entry-Level Behavioral Health Specialist to join our dedicated team. This role involves assisting with daily operations at our Intensive Behavioral Health Treatment Facility (IBHTF), working alongside nurses, certified peer counselors, and other healthcare professionals. The Behavioral Health Specialist will help provide support to residents with mental health issues, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout their stay. Key Responsibilities:
Assist residents with daily activities, including meals, personal hygiene, and recreation, in a supportive and therapeutic manner. Provide emotional and behavioral support to residents, promoting a safe and positive environment. Assist nurses and certified peer counselors with daily tasks, such as medication reminders, taking Vitals and monitoring of residents' well-being. Observe and document residents' behaviors, progress, and any changes in their condition. Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed. Ensure the facility is maintained in a clean and orderly manner, following all safety protocols. Assist with light cleaning of workstations, trash disposal, and general upkeep of communal areas. Support meal preparation, service, and cleaning of dishes, floors, and food prep areas after meal service. Set up and prepare breakfast for residents, particularly for those working overnight shifts. Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and meet certification requirements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus. Experience in working with individuals with mental health issues, preferably in a residential or treatment facility setting. Must be willing to obtain an agency-affiliated credential if not already held. Must hold a current Food Handlers Card. Valid TB test required prior to employment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively with a team and support residents in a compassionate and respectful manner. Must be flexible, adaptable, and able to respond to the needs of residents in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in behavioral health or mental health settings is preferred. Familiarity with the IBHTF model is a plus, but not required.
