This role involves offering temporary relief to primary caregivers while fostering a positive, engaging environment for those in our care. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with disabilities, particularly those with ADHD and Autism , and possess strong community outreach skills. Safety is paramount, and certification in First Aid and CPR is required within 2 months of hire to ensure a secure environment for all participants. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and their families through community-centered support. Responsibilities Provide attentive, personalized care to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being during respite sessions Engage clients in activities tailored to their interests, including community outings, recreational activities, and skill-building exercises Serve as a positive role model and mentor, fostering independence and confidence among clients Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and emergency procedures, including First Aid and CPR when necessary Collaborate with families, caregivers, and team members to develop individualized care plans that meet each person's unique needs Support clients with behavioral challenges such as ADHD and Autism through patience, understanding, and appropriate intervention strategies Promote community outreach efforts by encouraging social interaction and participation within the community setting Document session details accurately and communicate effectively with team members regarding client progress or concerns Skills Valid certification in First Aid and CPR within first 2 months if hired Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and disabilities in general Strong understanding of behavioral challenges associated with ADHD or ADD Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to caregiving Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a community-oriented setting Enthusiasm for mentorship and supporting children through engaging activities Reliable, responsible, and committed to creating a safe environment for clients
Pay:
$21.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 4.0 - 10.0 per week
