Crisis Response Specialist I Spectrum Healthcare Group Help people through their most difficult moments. About the Role Spectrum Healthcare Group is seeking a compassionate and dependable Crisis Response Specialist I to provide community-based support to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. In this role, you will respond to crisis calls from hotlines, law enforcement, first responders, supervisors, and other community partners. You will assess immediate needs, provide crisis intervention, develop safety plans, and help connect individuals with the appropriate level of care and resources. What You'll Do Respond promptly to behavioral health crisis calls throughout the community Complete crisis assessments and provide immediate crisis intervention Develop individualized safety plans based on client needs Assess risk and assist in determining the safest and most appropriate level of care Collaborate with law enforcement, first responders, behavioral health professionals, supervisors, and community partners Connect individuals with hospitals, treatment programs, behavioral health services, and community resources Provide crisis-related transportation when necessary Conduct community well checks Assist with Title 36 applications when appropriate Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation Participate in clinical team meetings, supervision, training, and other required activities Maintain professionalism, compassion, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries during all interactions What We're Looking For Candidates must meet the qualifications to work as a Behavioral Health Paraprofessional (BHPP) or Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) based on applicable position and regulatory requirements. Candidates may qualify through education, behavioral health experience, training, certification, or an appropriate combination of these qualifications. Education & Experience Qualifying backgrounds may include: High school diploma or GED with applicable behavioral health experience, training, or required supervision Behavioral health work experience that meets applicable BHT or BHPP requirements Bachelor's degree in any field with applicable behavioral health experience Accredited Behavioral Health Technician certification with applicable experience Bachelor's or master's degree in a behavioral health, human services, or related field Crisis Response Specialist I is intended for candidates with fewer than two years of crisis response experience. Preferred Qualifications Previous behavioral health or crisis response experience Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist credential Knowledge of behavioral health conditions and substance use disorders Familiarity with crisis intervention, de-escalation, and community resources Experience completing crisis assessments, safety plans, or behavioral health documentation Experience collaborating with law enforcement, first responders, hospitals, or community-based providers Skills & Strengths Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during crisis situations Strong verbal and written communication skills Compassionate and respectful approach to client care Strong assessment, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team Strong documentation and organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, first responders, and community partners Requirements Must be at least 18 years old Current Arizona driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to obtain and maintain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card Current American Heart Association-approved CPR and First Aid certification, as required for the position Ability to work a flexible schedule and respond to crisis situations within the community Basic computer proficiency Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including occasionally lifting or carrying at least 15 pounds Why Join Us At Spectrum Healthcare Group, your work directly impacts individuals and families during some of their most challenging moments.
