We are seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team at the Desert Recovery Centers female facility. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges. This role is supporting our female clients at our luxury Phoenix residential property. This is a PRN position, and we are specifically seeking BHTs who are available to provide as-needed coverage based on the needs of our programs. Your primary responsibility will be to implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of our clinical Psychologists. Responsibilities:
  • This position performs a variety of routine activities to provide physical and psychological care to patients who carry a primary or secondary mental health diagnosis The Behavioral Health Technician works collaboratively with all treatment team members, including the client and family to:
  • Implement behavior intervention plans designed by our clinical team
  • Collect and record data on individual progress and behavior
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and consistency in care
  • Support individuals in improving social, communication, and daily living skills
  • Utilize crisis management techniques when necessary
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma required One (1) year of full-time experience as a Behavioral Health Tech or similar position with relevant work experience including providing direct services (groups, monitoring, conducting recreational activities, transporting, etc.)to individuals with a mental disorder, personality disorder, or substance use problem Requires BLS issued by the American Heart Association Must have valid Fingerprint Clearance Card Pursuant to Arizona Administrative Code
R9-10-306 CHAPTER 10
of the Dept of Health Services, personnel must be at least 21 years of age or at least 18 years of age and licensed or certified under A.R.S. Title 32 and providing services within the personnel member's scope of practice Must demonstrate the skills and knowledge to provide behavioral health services to adults over the age of 65, individuals with substance abuse, individuals who are seriously mentally ill, individuals who have co-occurring disorders, and/or individuals who may be victims or perpetrators of domestic violence Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation Ability to take vital signs and monitor health status
  • Experience in crisis management and de-escalation techniques Strong interpersonal skills for working with individuals, families, and caregiver
Skills:
  • In-depth understanding of behavioral principles and interventions
  • Proficiency in implementing behavior support plans
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals who have PTSD or other trauma-related conditions
  • Experience providing patient care in a healthcare or educational setting
