Therapeutic Recreation Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) New Horizon Community Care (NHCC) $23-$27/hr • Full Benefits • Multiple Locations Are you passionate about helping those in your community and making a lasting impact on someone's life? About the Role Therapeutic Recreation - Afterschool program using movement, recreation, art, and CBTbased activities to build resilience and confidence. Our Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) play a critical role in our Therapeutic Recreation Program, supporting youth and young adults navigating at-risk behaviors in an after-school setting. BHTs provide mentorship, guidance, and care through trauma-informed approaches and cognitive behavior therapy, utilizing sports and activities as therapeutic tools. The role involves working closely with the clinical team to implement individualized treatment plans and ensure the safety and well-being of our clients. What You'll Do Supervise and ensure safety Facilitate groups, activities, and skillbuilding sessions Support treatment goals and behavior plans Assist with documentation and case coordination Provide crisis intervention when needed Support academics (CHOICE) Participate in recreation and movementbased activities (Therapeutic Rec) Collaborate with clinical and program teams What You Bring Experience with atrisk youth or behavioral health populations Strong communicationdocumentation skills Ability to manage group dynamics Comfort with structured environments Willingness to learn crisis intervention Minimum Qualifications Meet state licensing requirements for BHTs/Para Professionals 21+ years old High School Diploma or GED Valid AZ Driver's Licenseinsurable driving record Must be able to obtain an AZ DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card (Unrestricted) All qualified applications will receive consideration for open positions with NHCC.
