Food Handler Certification Full Job Description Overview:
Seeking individuals who have a passion working with women struggling with substance abuse. The candidate will assist residents with daily activities, ensure their rights are respected, provide compassionate care, manage medications, and intervene in crises as necessary. Experience with individuals facing substance use and developmental challenges is a plus. Duties and Responsibilities Client Safety and Program Compliance:
Maintain awareness of resident safety at all times. Ensure clients adhere to program guidelines and rules. Conduct house and grounds checks regularly to maintain a clean and safe environment. Perform property searches as required. Monitor and assist with meals. Provide appropriate feedback regarding clients' physical and emotional conditions. Communicate residents' concerns to the clinical team promptly. Model appropriate behavior and boundaries at all times to promote a positive and professional environment. Maintain HIPAA confidentiality standards at all times, including for past and present clients in all settings (e.g., AA meetings, alumni group events, external activities).
Client Support and Care:
Assist with intake and discharge processes. Perform urine drug screening (UDS) and record results accurately. Take and record vital signs, height, and weight as directed. Ensure the medication locker and lockbox remain secured at all times. Monitor medication intake for compliance (watch for palming, pocketing, or cheeking). Provide psychosocial support and diversion activities aligned with client needs. Facilitate opportunities for residents to express themselves openly and appropriately. Assist with client activities as per the program schedule, which may include transporting clients in company vehicle. Participate in psychiatric and medical emergency response as directed. Pull, file, and upload client documentation into KIPU or designated systems.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Participate in quarterly All Staff Team Meetings. Maintain clear professional boundaries with clients and staff to ensure a safe and effective work environment.
Certifications required before starting date:
Registered with CCAPP or equalent as a SUD Counselor or willing to register for certification which entails taking a 10-hour course prior to start date. Certificate must be maintained which includes staying current with education requirements. First Aid/CPR certification Food Handlers Card Proof of Negative TB test & Health Screen Certificate Valid Class "C"
Driver's License Experience:
Knowledge of drug and alcohol dependency and mental health issues. Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
Required Skills:
Strong organizational and leadership skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
