Responsibilities Conduct intake assessments and gather comprehensive medical and behavioral histories using electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and observe patient responses to treatment plans, documenting findings accurately in medical records. Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and adherence to medication administration protocols. Implement behavior intervention strategies, including applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques, to support clients with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Provide crisis management and de-escalation techniques during behavioral or emotional episodes to maintain safety for clients and staff. Support individuals with substance use disorders through addiction counseling, relapse prevention strategies, and social work practices. Assist with mental health and behavioral care plans tailored for youth and adults with disabilities or developmental challenges. Collect data on client progress, behaviors, and treatment outcomes to inform ongoing care plans and ensure continuous improvement. Requirements Experience working with children, youth, or individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Knowledge of addiction counseling principles, substance use disorder treatment strategies, and crisis intervention techniques. Ability to perform vital signs assessment, medication administration, and basic first aid including CPR certification. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), medical documentation standards, medical terminology, and maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Strong communication skills for client interaction, social work practices, and team collaboration in a behavioral health setting. Experience working with individuals experiencing PTSD or other mental health challenges is preferred. Ability to handle crisis situations calmly using de-escalation techniques while ensuring safety for all involved. Prior experience in special education or working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
