Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) - Medical Liaison Enhance Health Group - 5.0 Tustin, CA Job Details Full-time $22 - $25 an hour 17 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Qualifications Collaborate with healthcare professionals Teamwork HIPAA Care documentation Overseeing care coordination Attention to detail CNA Managing patients as a clinical case manager Certified Medical Assistant Cross-functional communication Full Job Description Job Summary The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) - Medical Liaison plays a vital role in supporting clients receiving substance use and/or mental health treatment by coordinating medical care, supporting medication management, and serving as a liaison between clients, providers, pharmacies, and the clinical team. This position ensures continuity of care, medication compliance, and timely access to medical and psychiatric services while maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. Responsibilities Serve as the primary liaison between clients and medical providers, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and pharmacies Coordinate and schedule medical and medication management appointments as needed Communicate relevant medical information, appointment outcomes, and provider recommendations to the clinical team in a timely manner Assist with medication reconciliation upon admission and ongoing coordination with prescribing providers Monitor medication compliance in accordance with program policy and report concern Observe and document medication-related behaviors, side effects, and client concerns for medical review Assist with medication ordering, refills, prior authorizations, and pharmacy coordination as directed Client Support & Monitoring Assist clients in understanding medication purpose, dosing schedules, and the importance of adherence (within scope of role) Monitor clients for changes in physical or mental health status and report concerns immediately to medical staff Documentation & Compliance Accurately document medical appointments, medication coordination, and client interactions in the electronic medical record (EMR) Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, state regulations, and program policies Ensure all medical coordination aligns with treatment plans and physician orders Assist with audits, chart reviews, and compliance tracking related to medical care and medications Collaboration and Team Communication Work closely with clinicians, nursing staff, case managers, and program leadership to support integrated care Participate in staff meetings, treatment team reviews, and handoffs related to client medical needs Communicate professionally and effectively with external providers and community resources Additional Responsibilities Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary Maintain a safe, structured, and HIPPA compliant supportive environment for clients Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and client care Qualifications Previous experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or medical coordination preferred (1 year experience) Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality Must to have SUDRC or RADT certification Must to have MA, CNA or equivalent Required Skills & Competencies Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to coordinate care across multiple providers and systems Attention to detail with documentation and follow-through Ability to respond calmly and effectively in high-stress situations Professional, compassionate, and client-centered approach
