Join our team at Griffith Centers as a Mental Health Technician and help transform lives! We're seeking dedicated Mental Health Technicians to provide individual and group guidance services to clients with behavioral, educational, personal, and/or social challenges in a residential setting.
What We Offer :
Base pay of $19/hr $2 shift differential when working on weekends. Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) qualified employer. Participation in our 403b retirement plan. Employee Assistance Program - available to employee and family members. Bi-weekly pay; 26 pay periods in a calendar year. Professional development and training/certifications.
Responsibilities :
Responsible for working with youth who have emotional and behavioral issues resulting from trauma and neglect, including those who may display verbal and physical aggression and in some cases, sexualized behaviors. Maintains consistent, full-time supervision of clients during educational, leisure, and daily activities to ensure client safety and accountability. Collaborates within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure consistent and coordinated client care aligned with program and individual treatment goals. Provides social and emotional support to clients, assisting them in developing essential daily living skills, social skills, anger management, and coping strategies through individualized therapeutic activities and skill-building exercises aligned with their treatment plans. Participates in and adheres to Handle With Care (HWC) protocols, including the use of physical restraint when necessary. Demonstrates appropriate social behaviors as a role model and actively supports conflict resolution through effective communication and problem-solving techniques.
Work Schedule:
Saturday and Sunday, day shifts
Qualifications :
A 4-year college degree and at least one (1) year of relevant experience is preferred; however, the following substitutions will be considered A high school diploma or equivalent plus at least two (2) years of experience in the human services field. A high school diploma or equivalent plus 30 semester hours of college credit and at least one (1) year of relevant experience. High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of college preferred. Qualified Medication Administration Personnel Certification (QMAP), or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. CPR/First Aid Certifications, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities. Ability to work with sensitivity to the cultural and/or socioeconomic diversity of the agency's clients and staff. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and trust. Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening as a condition of employment, in accordance with Colorado Department of Human Services regulations for childcare facilities. This screening includes initial and ongoing state criminal background checks, fingerprinting, sex offender registry searches, and abuse and neglect clearances. If the employee has lived in any other state within the past five years, equivalent background and abuse/neglect checks from those states will also be conducted. In addition, employees are required to complete a health evaluation or physical examination prior to beginning service to confirm fitness for duty, and annually thereafter.
