Working under the supervision of licensed clinicians, the BHT helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment, supports treatment plans, monitors client progress, facilitates educational activities, and assists clients in achieving recovery goals. Responsibilities Monitor client behavior, participation, and overall well-being during treatment services. Observe, document, and report significant changes in client mood, behavior, or recovery progress. Assist with client intake, orientation, and discharge processes. Support counselors and clinical staff in implementing treatment plans. Encourage client engagement in treatment, recovery activities, and community resources. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency, state, and federal requirements. Assist with drug screening procedures and other program-related monitoring activities as permitted by policy. Provide crisis intervention and utilize de-escalation techniques when needed. Ensure a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused environment for clients and staff. Participate in treatment team meetings and communicate relevant client information to clinical staff. Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build rapport with individuals in recovery. Knowledge of substance use disorders, relapse prevention, and recovery principles. Documentation and organizational skills. Crisis intervention and conflict-resolution abilities. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Experience working with individuals affected by substance use disorders preferred. CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain). Clean driving record needs to be able to be insured. Ability to pass background and drug screening requirements. Typical Work Environment Outpatient substance abuse treatment center. Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs. Recovery support and counseling programs.

Pay:

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
