Job Description
Overview Join our crew as a Manhole Rehabilitation Technician working on municipal sanitary sewer and infiltration/inflow (I&I) abatement projects across South Florida. In this hands-on field position, you will rehabilitate and restore manholes using spray-applied lining systems, with a primary focus on Raven 405 epoxy coatings. You'll work closely with the crew lead, project manager, and municipal inspectors to deliver structurally sound, code-compliant rehabilitations that stop groundwater intrusion and extend the service life of the collection system. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in doing physical, skilled work the right way and wants steady, full-time employment with weekly pay. Duties Prepare manhole surfaces for coating, including high-pressure washing, cleaning, removing debris and deteriorated material, and profiling substrate to spec. Mix, load, and apply Raven 405 high-build epoxy coating using spray/spin-cast equipment to the required mil thickness. Stop active infiltration by applying chemical grout, hydraulic cement, and patching compounds as needed prior to lining. Perform confined space entry in accordance with OSHA requirements, including atmospheric monitoring, ventilation, and use of tripod/retrieval systems. Set up and maintain traffic control and job-site safety measures on municipal right-of-way. Operate, clean, and maintain spray rigs, pumps, hoses, and related rehabilitation equipment, and troubleshoot equipment issues in the field. Conduct quality checks to verify coating thickness, cure, and coverage, and document work for municipal inspection. Load and stage materials and equipment for daily job assignments and keep the work area and truck organized. Communicate clearly with the crew lead and project manager on progress, site conditions, and any issues that affect the schedule. Follow all manufacturer specifications and municipal contract requirements for surface prep, application, and cure. Experience Proven hands-on experience applying Raven 405 (or equivalent spray-applied epoxy/cementitious manhole lining systems) is required . Manhole rehabilitation, sewer/pipe lining, or underground utility experience strongly preferred. Confined space entry experience. OSHA 10/30 and confined space certification a plus (training available for the right candidate). Comfortable operating and maintaining spray/spin-cast rigs, pumps, and pressure-washing equipment. Able to perform physically demanding work outdoors in Florida conditions, including lifting, bending, climbing, and working in and around manholes. Reliable, punctual, and willing to travel to job sites across South Florida. Valid driver's license preferred. CDL a plus.
