Adolescent Girls About the Role Family Partners is seeking a dependable, emotionally mature, and trauma-aware Youth Care Specialist with behavioral health experience to provide direct care, supervision, structure, and mentorship to girls living in our residential group home. Youth Care Specialists help create and maintain a safe, clean, structured, and home-like environment while supporting youth who may have experienced trauma, family disruption, behavioral health challenges, emotional dysregulation, or difficulty with authority and boundaries. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in behavioral health, mental health, residential treatment, child welfare, juvenile services, crisis stabilization, group homes, or other direct-care environments serving youth with behavioral needs. The right candidate is calm under pressure, able to establish healthy boundaries, and understands how to respond to challenging behavior without unnecessarily escalating the situation. Responsibilities Provide active supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of youth in the home. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and home-like environment . Perform routine housekeeping responsibilities necessary to maintain the home. Prepare meals and assist with meal preparation and kitchen responsibilities. Build appropriate, supportive relationships with youth while maintaining professional boundaries. Use trauma-informed approaches when responding to behaviors, emotional needs, and conflict. Recognize signs of escalation and use verbal de-escalation, redirection, conflict resolution, and approved behavioral-support strategies. Remain calm and professional during defiance, emotional outbursts, peer conflict, or other challenging situations. Reinforce house expectations, routines, responsibilities, and appropriate behaviors consistently. Serve as a positive adult role model. Teach and reinforce appropriate social skills, independent living skills, personal presentation and dress expectations, appropriate language, communication skills, and public behavior . Support youth in developing emotional regulation, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and independent-living skills. Model respectful communication, accountability, healthy relationships, appropriate boundaries, and responsible decision-making. Support youth with daily routines including meals, hygiene, homework, appointments, recreation, outings, and household responsibilities. Encourage participation in school, treatment recommendations, appointments, and personal goals. Observe and report changes in mood, behavior, peer interactions, or functioning. Complete accurate shift documentation, daily notes, incident reports, and other required records. Maintain required checklists, logbooks, binders, forms, and program documentation . Communicate important information to incoming staff and leadership during shift changes. Follow individual safety plans, behavioral plans, agency policies, and required procedures. Transport and accompany youth to school, appointments, community outings, activities, and other approved destinations as assigned. Maintain confidentiality and protect youth information at all times.

Required Qualifications Candidates must:

Be at least 21 years old . Have a high school diploma or GED . Have a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record. Be able to successfully complete a Level II Background Check and all other required employment screenings. Be able to complete required agency, DCF, trauma-informed care, safety, CPR/First Aid, and other applicable training. Be able and willing to work day, night, and weekend shifts based on program needs. Have basic technology skills, including the ability to use computers, tablets, mobile devices, email, and electronic documentation systems. Be able to complete documentation accurately and objectively. Be able to communicate professionally with youth, coworkers, leadership, families, agencies, and community partners. Be dependable and maintain consistent attendance. Maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries. Preferred Experience Previous experience in one or more of the following areas is strongly preferred: Behavioral health or mental health Youth residential treatment Group homes or child-caring facilities Child welfare or foster care Behavioral Health Technician / Mental Health Technician roles Youth Care Worker / Youth Care Specialist roles Residential Counselor or Residential Specialist roles Juvenile justice or youth intervention programs Crisis stabilization Trauma-informed care Behavior management and de-escalation Working with adolescents with significant behavioral or emotional needs What Makes Someone Successful Here The strongest Youth Care Specialists are not easily rattled.
