SERVICE SCHEDULE
Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 8-4:30 POSITION SUMMARY Assist therapy staff in patient care under the supervision of the licensed therapy staff ( PT,PTA,OT,COTA,SLP). Cleans, maintains, prepares the treatment area and equipment used in therapy and patient care. Prepares the daily patient list. Enters therapy charges to computer system. Answers calls, faxes documents, mails plan of cares/orders to physician offices, request information from centralized scheduling, physician offices. Demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion. Maintains atmosphere, which ensures SGMC Health's mission, vision, values, code of conduct, goals, policies and standards are consistently supported and enforced. Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
High School graduate, preferred. Experience in working with adult and geriatric population with physical disabilities is desired. Ability to work well individually and as a team member. Demonstrated ability to adapt to new situations, manage priorities and utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to read and interpret policies, standards, and think critically. Ability to operate clinical equipment, computer and telecommunication devices. Ability to communicate clearly with, and care for a diverse population of patients/family units of all ages and cultures, and/or persons occasionally exhibiting stressed behaviors. CPR Certification required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ADA INFORMATION
Works primarily in hospital or clinical setting. Requires considerable standing, mental effort, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, in excess of fifty (50) pounds, pushing objects (wheelchairs, and beds). Comfortable setting indoors, schedules may include working week-ends and holidays. May be subjected to high levels of stress. Likely to be exposed to blood and body fluids, including infectious dis-eases, on a daily basis. Uses medical equipment, computer, telecommunication devices and patient information systems.
