In this vital role, you will provide direct support to individuals with diverse behavioral health needs, including those with autism spectrum and other neurodevelopmental disorders, anxiety and depressive, as well as mood disorders. Your patient and calm, consitent approach will help foster a safe, supportive environment where clients can thrive and progress toward their individual goals. You will act as a guide and role model for individual daily plans, encourage and guide behavior management, provide crisis intervention, and medical documentation while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality. Responsibilities Support clients with daily activities, including life skill development, social interaction, education goals, and behavior management strategies in collaboration with their mental health care team. Assist with medication reminders as prescribed under medical supervision, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR). Implement de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention protocols to effectively manage behavioral emergencies and ensure safety for clients and staff. Collect data on client behaviors, progress notes, and medical records to track outcomes and inform treatment adjustments. Support clients with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by applying specialized techniques like behavior management and autism support strategies. Maintain the home by assisting clients with daily chores. It is imperative to maintain a clean and clutter free environment that is safe and predictable. Maintain compliance with HIPAA standards by safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring all documentation is accurate, timely, and confidential. Skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodiverse conditions such as autism spectrum disorder. Knowledge of mental health conditions including PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) anxiety, depression, mood disorders. Strong understanding of crisis management, crisis intervention techniques, de-escalation methods, and first aid/CPR certification. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation practices, EMR/EHR systems, and electronic health records management. Excellent client communication skills combined with compassionate patient care approaches tailored to individual needs. Skilled in data collection for behavioral analysis and progress tracking; experience working within special education settings is advantageous.
