Know Your Team:
Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital, and is home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue. PMC has a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an adult intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services, a full suite of cardiac care, Center of Excellence-recognized surgeons, imaging, and primary and specialty care. Responsibilities The CNA/Behavioral Health Technician performs selected patient care activities and is a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, providing support for the patient's therapeutic treatment plan. Observes and records patient information pertinent to the treatment plan, and reports this information to the staff RN and other members of the treatment team. Maintaining safety checks and assessments of the individual patients and the Behavioral Health environment. Assists patients with physical and emotional needs, deals with patient emergencies, and works as a member of a clinical team.
Hands-on patient care may include:
physical care related to activities of daily living, emotional support, limit setting, verbal and physical redirection, nutritional support, and support of the general patient milieu.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
High School or GED. Current CNA Certification in the State of Idaho. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Knowledge of medical terminology. Two years of education in the behavioral health sciences or experience in the behavioral health field.
