7:00pm-7:00am UnityPoint Health is seeking a compassionate and attentive Behavioral Health Technician to join our behavioral health team. This role is essential in supporting patient care and promoting a safe, therapeutic environment for individuals receiving behavioral health services. The Behavioral Health Technician assists in the delivery of patient care throughout the behavioral health unit. Working under the direction of licensed nursing staff, this position supports daily patient needs, ensures safety, and contributes to a positive treatment environment. Why UnityPoint Health? Responsibilities Delivery of Care Assists patients with ADL's according to hospital procedures, reports all abnormal findings and changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse in charge of patient. Completes 15 minute checks to maintain safety of patient and unit. Assists with the check in process including getting initial vital signs and completing admission paperwork. Assists with restocking of rooms and maintain a safe and clean environment. Follows all established infection control policies, and recognizes role in providing safety to the patient. Documentation Documents vital signs, weights, activity, intake and outputs, and ADL care given to patient in computer. Assists with the check in process including getting initial vital signs and completing admission paperwork.

Qualifications Experience:

Must be at least 16 years old if meeting #5 below under license/certification. License(s)/Certification(s): Successful completion and documentation of one of the following: Graduation from an accredited nursing program and waiting for NCLEX re-examination. Certified Nursing Assistant listed as either Active or Inactive on any state health care worker registry. EMT-B licensure. Medical Assistant. Must be enrolled in Trinity's PCT on the job training program and successfully complete. Successful completion of first semester of nursing school that includes Nursing Fundamentals. Current CPR certification.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Microsoft Office - basic computer skills. Customer/patient focused. Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.

Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
