We are currently seeking a full-time Mental Health Tech (MHT) with a 2/3 block schedule working 12 hour shift to join our clinical team.

POSITION SUMMARY

A Mental Health Technician (MHT) at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles plays an essential role in supporting patients and helping maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment throughout the facility. In this hands-on role, MHTs observe and monitor patient behavior, complete routine safety checks, and assist patients with daily living needs such as hygiene, meals, and mobility. They also help facilitate group activities, encourage participation in treatment, and support the development of healthy coping and social skills. MHTs document patient interactions, report behavioral or medical concerns to nursing staff, and assist with de-escalation when needed to help ensure patient safety and quality care. This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate, patient, attentive, and passionate about supporting individuals through their behavioral health journey.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Previous experience caring for geriatric psychiatric patients strongly preferred. CNA Certification preferred Updated resumes with work history required
