Job Description

Full-Time Mental Health Technician Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team at Progressive PHP of Seaside Health System. As a Mental Health Technician, you will be responsible for providing routine and assigned tasks to assist patients with their daily needs, while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. Shift:
1:45p-10:15p
Responsibilities:
Perform direct care duties to assist patients in maintaining personal dignity and safety (40%) Participate as a member of the treatment team in the implementation of the multi-disciplinary treatment plan (40%) Provide driving/transportation and patient escort (15%) Perform all other duties as assigned (5%)
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED Ability to work under close supervision with distractions/demanding patients and to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to communicate effectively with all departments Knowledge of basic first aid required Knowledge of program policies and procedures regarding infection control and sanitation Must possess good interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Effort Requirement:
Frequent/strenuous physical effort (e.g., lifting, moving heavy objects, etc.)
Guidance Requirement:
Direct supervision given. Specific/detailed instructions provided. Procedures well established. Few decisions made. Supervisor readily available as needed.
