Boston Children's Hospital seeks a Behavioral Health Specialist to support pediatric patients and families within our nationally recognized medical center. Responsibilities Provide behavioral health assessment and support to pediatric patients and families in inpatient and outpatient settings Implement evidence-based interventions, de-escalation strategies, and behavior plans under supervision of licensed clinicians Monitor, document, and report patient behaviors, safety concerns, and treatment responses in the electronic health record Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other team members on care plans Support crisis intervention, safety planning, and milieu management to maintain a therapeutic environment Educate patients and families on coping skills, behavior strategies, and available resources Participate in treatment team meetings, case conferences, and care coordination activities Assist with group therapy, psychoeducational groups, and structured therapeutic activities Adhere to hospital policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements for pediatric behavioral health Engage in ongoing training and professional development related to child and adolescent behavioral health Required Skills Behavioral health assessment support Crisis intervention and de-escalation Behavior management planning Pediatric mental health knowledge Electronic health record documentation Group facilitation for children/adolescents Safety and risk assessment support Interdisciplinary team collaboration Trauma-informed care practices Patient and family education
