Responsibilities:

Under the general supervision of the Families Forward/Crisis Services Coordinator, provides a supportive atmosphere for families and children experiencing acute mental health crisis both in the mobile crisis and office settings, works extensively with community emergency personnel including police officers and EMT's, co-responds to aspects of a crisis situations; and monitors program activity. Provides assistance to therapists and interacts with consumers in a short term crisis intervention program. Duties include a variety of supportive services and direct interventions with families and children experiencing behavioral health crisis in accordance with treatment plans developed by professional personnel. Responsible for maintaining a secure environment. Responsible for obtaining and sharing information with therapists in the

system. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI's mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Possession of a High School diploma or G.E.D. is required. A minimum of six months' experience working with consumers experiencing mental health crisis required. Must be able to problem solve crisis situations and de-escalate behavioral health crisis with Consumers both individually and in group settings. Must demonstrate a working knowledge of clinical diagnoses for this population. Experience with children and adolescents with Severe Emotional Disturbance and their families required. Must be able to process information in order to recognize problems and solutions. Demonstrates knowledge and effectiveness in interpersonal skills including productivity and conflict resolution. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally is required. Ability to process extensive documentation is required.

Conditional Employment Requirements:

Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police clearance check and pass a Central Registry Screening. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours:

$19.85 - $22.23 per hour with scheduled, annual increases that can result in a rate of $25.80 per hour. 24 hours a week, 8am - 8pm Saturday and Sunday.
