Job Description:
Hire new staff and provide new staff orientation within one week of hire. Maintain documentation of hire and orientation in personnel file. Ensure that staff member receives training with Team Leader or another seasoned team member before working alone. Identify and coordinate training needs for staff, including regular mandatory updates on Confidentiality, Infection Control & Universal Precautions, Cultural competency, CPR, Person Centered Counseling, Medication Training and Residential Technician Training. Participate in progressive discipline with staff as needed. Forward original documentation of personnel issues to HR. Complete staff evaluations and provide regular feedback. Maintain secure shadow personnel files on staff as needed but send all original documentation to Human Resources. Schedule regular staff meetings, at least once monthly. Complete and submit staff work schedule monthly and ensure 24-hour coverage. Maintain appropriate manuals and logs to assist staff in completing job duties and maintaining a safe environment.
Education/Skills:
Associate degree in Human Services preferred. Successfully complete Adult, Child and Infant CPR, First Aid Training as well as medication training at the first available opportunity. Knowledge of 12 Step Groups, recovery and addictions treatment is also preferred. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with clients and to engage clients in the process of obtaining a healthy lifestyle. Must possess leadership skills and be able to function as a member of the treatment team. Must be goal oriented, possess excellent oral and written skills and be able to manage time effectively. Should have or develop familiarity with licensing and accreditation standards Must possess valid driver's license and submit to police records check.
