In this vital role, you will provide immediate, expert intervention for individuals experiencing mental health crises, ensuring safety and stabilization through evidence-based practices. Your energetic approach and commitment to client well-being will help guide individuals through challenging moments, fostering hope and resilience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in high-pressure situations while working within a collaborative, supportive environment. Duties Implement de-escalation techniques and crisis management strategies to stabilize clients experiencing acute distress or behavioral emergencies Provide individual and group crisis intervention, utilizing evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized safety plans, including risk assessments for crisis intervention risk management Maintain detailed clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards and medical documentation protocols, including electronic health records (EHR) management Support high-risk populations, including individuals with co-occurring disorders, developmental disabilities, FAS, PTSD, substance use disorders, or autism spectrum disorder etc Skills Proven experience in crisis intervention, behavioral therapy, and mental health counseling within acute care or hospital settings Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and medical terminology relevant to psychiatric patient care Skilled in applying de-escalation techniques and behavioral management strategies to reduce risk during high-stakes situations Expertise in conducting mental health assessments, patient care planning, and case management for diverse populations Excellent communication skills for client engagement, clinical documentation standards adherence, and collaboration with healthcare professionals Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and CPT coding for documentation accuracy Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, adults, and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder Join us as a Crisis Specialist if you are passionate about providing energetic support during critical moments!
