Job Description

South Central Behavioral Health Clinic is seeking a Mental Health Technician - Youth and Family in Jamestown, ND. As a Mental Health Technician, you will help children and their families practice skills so they can live a quality, independent life. Every day, you will travel to individuals' homes, schools, and communities. There you will encourage, reinforce, and coach youth and their families as they practice newly learned living and household skills, communication and emotion regulation skills, coping skills, budgeting skills, as well as health, safety, and hygiene skills. You will be part of an integrated, interdisciplinary team focused on providing the best support plan possible for each individual. To thrive in this position, you should enjoy coaching and role-modeling, be passionate about empowering others, and prefer working with youth and their families in their home, school, and other natural environments. Location ND HHS utilizes a blended workplace model. This position provides essential client services face to face and therefore the person in this position needs to be able to travel to meet clients at their location. About

Minimum Qualifications You are required to have a: a high school diploma or equivalent at least 12 months of work experience in a position providing direct care to special populations; and requires a valid driver's license or ability to travel to meet client needs. This position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of defensive driving course will be required in the first 6 months of employment. NCCB Certification as a mental health technician must be obtained within 6 months of hire for continued employment. South Central BHC will pay for this certification and allow for time to complete certification. An LBSW, LMSW, LAPC, or LPC can be substituted for the Mental Health Certification.
