Contract Job Duties:
Set up hydrotherapy tanks, paraffin baths, hot/cold packs, treatment tables, exercise equipment, and splinting supplies. Clean equipment and maintain equipment/cleaning logs. Position and transfer patients as directed by PT, OT, or speech therapists. Assist with treatment equipment, gait belts, transfer equipment, and therapy activities. Help adjust and safely use walkers, canes, crutches, wheelchairs, and other mobility devices. Escort patients to and from treatment areas. Follow hospital infection-control procedures. Maintain supplies, obtain materials from storage, and manage equipment inventory. Accurately follow oral and written instructions from therapists. Perform basic computer tasks and document patient activities as required.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma/GED, associate degree in healthcare preferred or applicable. Approximately 1 year of nursing support or medical support experience in a hospital, healthcare, or medical facility, or completion of an appropriate training program. Ability to safely position, transfer, escort, and assist patients. Familiarity with physical, occupational, and speech therapy equipment and assistive devices. Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and customer-service skills. Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, crouch, push/pull, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs. Basic computer skills and ability to document patient activities. Good manual dexterity, attention to safety, cleanliness, infection control, and ability to follow instructions. Experience in assisting therapist as directed, including positioning patients, in, at or on equipment, devices or treatment tables.
Schedule:
8:30 AM - 5:00PM 5 Days a week Monday - Friday 40 Hours/week SAL01
Pay:
