We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) to support individuals experiencing psychiatric emergencies in Summit County. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact by providing direct support, safety monitoring, and crisis stabilization as part of a multidisciplinary team. About Us Portage Path Behavioral Health's Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) is part of Summit County's 24/7 Crisis Center. We provide immediate psychiatric care to help stabilize individuals in crisis and return them safely to the community. Position Summary The Mental Health Technician (MHT) plays a vital role on our clinical team, supporting both the Emergency Evaluation (EE) unit and the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU).

Schedule Full-time:

Three 12-hour shifts per week; 7am-7pm Three-week rotation with one weekend every three weeks Alternating holidays Key Responsibilities Greet and monitor clients and visitors entering/exiting PES Provide 1:1 client observation and safety monitoring Assist nurses and clinicians in emergencies and daily care tasks Participate in therapeutic activities with CSU clients Complete documentation in PES's EMR Answer phones and direct calls Complete shift duties (meals, cleaning, laundry, logs, chart organization) Transport clients to and from appointments as needed Qualifications Compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Basic computer skills Ability to complete TAPS de-escalation training (provided) Ability to obtain CPR certification (provided) Valid driver's license required with a clean driving record Successfully pass a background check Benefits 403(b) retirement plan Health, Dental, and Vision insurance Mileage reimbursement Professional development assistance Work Location In person (Akron, OH)
