Job Description

Job description The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) role is to support, document, monitor, and provide a structured environment for the patients while they are in the care of Ohio Addiction Recovery Center (OARC). He/she is responsible for providing support services for the clinical and medical staff. BHT's are to provide a safe environment at which patients can obtain and maintain recovery. He/she will work under the direct supervision of the Behavioral Health Tech Supervisor. This is an hourly position with a schedule established to complete required duties. This position is "non-exempt" from wage and hour regulations, as defined by the U.S, Department of Labor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitoring patients at all times while they're not in clinical groups, Attend meetings with patients, Perform room searches, patient personal belonging searches and completes inventory of patient belongings, Assists in making beds, restocking, and cleaning duties, Monitor phone calls and family visits, Perform drug screens, Completes initial patient check-in's, Assist taking and document vitals when needed, Create and maintain logs documenting patient interactions, Exhibits reliable and dependable qualities, Demonstrates the ability to work as a team member.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other duties as assigned by the Tech Supervisor
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Valid drivers license
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Must possess knowledge and understanding of substance use disorders and the process of recovery. Must have good organizational, communication and language skills. Must possess general computer knowledge and general office equipment familiarity. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people. Demonstrates the ability for effectively function as a team member. Ohio Addiction Recovery Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
