Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing direct patient care and support to individuals with various behavioral health needs, including developmental disabilities, autism, PTSD, and addiction. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in behavioral management, crisis intervention, and medical documentation, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients while supporting their treatment plans. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring specialized behavioral health services. Responsibilities Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients with behavioral health conditions. Monitor and record vital signs, medication administration, and patient progress using accurate medical documentation. Support patients during intake assessments and ongoing data collection to track behavioral and medical progress. Apply behavior management techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), to promote positive behaviors. Respond effectively to crisis situations through crisis intervention and crisis management strategies. Provide patient care that includes assistance with daily activities, ensuring safety and comfort. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and communicate patient needs while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Recognize signs of distress or escalation and intervene appropriately to de-escalate situations. Assist with special education needs and work with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Conduct medical procedures such as vital signs measurement and medication administration under supervision. Maintain accurate medical records, document incidents, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Skills Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred. Strong crisis intervention and crisis management skills are essential for handling emergency situations effectively. Knowledge of behavior management techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA). Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and medical documentation standards. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and medication administration safely. Experience working with individuals affected by PTSD or addiction counseling is a plus. Excellent communication skills for working with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Compassionate approach to patient care combined with professionalism in handling sensitive situations. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple responsibilities. This position is integral to providing high-quality behavioral health services that improve patient outcomes while fostering a supportive environment for recovery and growth.
