Responsibilities:
Responds to patient crisis events accordingly using de-escalation techniques. Leads activity groups for patients according to the program schedule Conducts patient observation rounds throughout the shift to ensure safety Supervise patients in daily activities and assist treatment team with patients to provide therapeutic activities Document patient behaviors, condition, & progress Monitors visitation regarding patient safety.
Requirements:
A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED is required. Post-secondary training or education in related field with experience preferred. Position also requires excellent verbal communication skills; ability to remain calm in dynamic environment; commitment to providing a high level of care to patients of all ages, excellent customer service skills and a reliable & dependable attendance to work profile. The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescent through geriatrics. All MHT's work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
