Job Description
Job Summary Do you have experience using the Handle with Care Behavior Management System or other crisis intervention training? Do you have great engagement skills? Can you verbally diffuse crisis situations? Come join our team! We want dedicated and experienced Crisis Response Technicians at our Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital, who can provide immediate support and interventions to individuals experiencing mental health crises. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to use comprehensive verbal and physical de-escalation techniques and have a solid understanding of crisis management techniques. As a Crisis Response Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate care, maintaining a therapeutic milieu, and coordinating appropriate crisis interventions within the psychiatric inpatient hospital. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference with a high-risk populations through the application of specialized skills in behavioral health and crisis intervention. Responsibilities Maintain a supportive and therapeutic milieu on an acute inpatient unit. Proficiently utilizes verbal de-escalation and PRT techniques to stabilize individuals experiencing acute emotional or behavioral distress. Responds to behavioral codes on inpatient unit acting as point to begin verbal de-escalation. Communicates/works closely with Unit Nurse regarding all patient behaviors and status. Ensures patient safety by performing rounding on patients at established intervals and utilizes Round Right to record rounds. Performs 1:1 continuous observations, as needed. Provides patient care by engaging with patients, providing meal service, performing unit safety checks, conducting searches, completing admissions onto the unit, assisting patients with ADLs, and reporting concerning behaviors of patients to Nurses/Safety Liaison/Management. Participate in ongoing hospital trainings to stay current on best practices in crisis de-escalation, crisis management & behavioral health. Capability to handle high-pressure situations effectively while maintaining professionalism and empathy throughout crisis situations.
