Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a Behavioral Health Technician

Location:

Aston Education Center Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU)

3-5 years old

Schedule:
Start Time:

8:00-9:00

AM End Time:

Around 3:00 PM (Monday

•Friday, following the school calendar)

Position Overview:

DCIU is hiring 1 Behavioral Health Technicians for their Early Intervention Program. In this role, you'll work alongside certified special education teachers and support staff to provide individualized instruction and behavioral support for students with complex needs. Strong communication and daily consistency are essential to helping students achieve academic and developmental goals in a structured and supportive environment. Must be team players and understand the importance of working together to be successful. You'll be supported by a strong BCBA team and crisis management staff, and will work alongside a new teacher who is eager to make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Support:

Assist in delivering academic content, modifying materials, and leading small group activities under the teacher's guidance.

Behavior Management:

Reinforce positive behavior strategies and support students with IEP-driven behavior plans.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with teachers, therapists, and classroom staff to implement daily lesson plans and interventions.

Student Supervision:

Monitor students in classrooms, transitions, lunch, and recess while ensuring safety and engagement.

Daily Assistance:

Provide support with basic self-care tasks such as meals, hygiene, and mobility when necessary.

Data & Documentation:

Track student progress, collect behavioral or academic data, and assist with daily classroom logs.

Environment Management:

Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized learning space.

Crisis Response:

Follow intervention protocols in emergency or escalated situations.

Confidentiality & Professionalism:

Maintain student privacy (FERPA compliance) and follow DCIU's dress code and conduct expectations.

Training Requirement:

Complete a minimum of 20 hours of annual training.

Qualifications:

Must have previous experience as a BHT High School Diploma or GED (required); Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field (preferred) Must be comfortable with working in an intermediate unit setting Must be comfortable with toileting/diapering/feeding Must be a team-player Medical, dental, and vision insurance are available to qualified candidates who meet eligibility requirements. #education
