Role:

An Environmental Health and Safety Technician will

• Develop an understanding of ANSI, ASHRAE, OSHA, and NSF regulatory standards and our company practices.
• Work alongside lead technicians and complete training protocols.
• Understand and adhere to evolving jobsite safety protocols.
• Conduct preventative maintenance service and inspections for emergency showers and eyewashes, fume hoods, and other local exhaust/ airflow systems.
• Balance and calibrate alarms and airflow equipment to meet manufacturer specific guidelines.
• Provide specialized repair services such as filter changes, motor changes, and other small motorized equipment repairs (all training provided).
• Compile and submit inspection data.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with customers and our team.

Required Competencies:

• Previous experience in a customer-facing role is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel
• or willingness to learn Microsoft Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs, hold 8 lbs overhead for 10 seconds, and at times push carts with 10 to 120 lbs of equipment.
• Must be able to sit/ stand for an extended period.
• Minimum 21 years old with a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Competencies:

• Experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
• Experience with small motor or electronic repair is preferred.
• College and/or continuing education

Job Profile Summary:

• 25-40 hours/ week, approximately 7am to 3pm (Guaranteed annual salary)
• Occasional work shifts between approximately 3pm and 6 pm
• Work week is M-F
• Daily travel via company vehicle (can carpool from set meeting point)
• Customer facing role
• Remote-travel based position
• Jobs are performed in laboratory and manufacturing settings including cleanrooms, schools, universities, and research labs
• Most jobs are located along route 2 between Fitchburg and Cambridge, and along 495 between Franklin and Amesbury.

Drug Testing:

This position may be subject to annual drug testing to adhere to the policies of some of our customers.
