Position Summary The Mental Health Technician (MHT) plays a vital role in supporting the safety, recovery, and overall well-being of our patients. In this position, you will work directly with individuals experiencing mental health and behavioral health challenges, providing therapeutic support and assisting with daily patient care in a structured treatment environment. Essential Responsibilities Observe, monitor, and document patient behaviors and interactions throughout the assigned shift. Support patients in developing healthy coping mechanisms and essential life skills. Assist patients with daily activities and provide escorts throughout the facility as needed. Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic treatment environment. Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques and provide physical intervention when necessary (training provided). Encourage positive patient engagement and participation in treatment activities. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to support patient care goals. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of one year of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, social services, or a related field preferred. Coursework or experience in psychology, human services, nursing, criminal justice, or social work is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations. Capable of bending, lifting, standing for extended periods, and participating in patient intervention activities when needed. Must be flexible to work weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Schedule Full-time opportunities available 12-hour shifts
