We offer a compassionate, structured environment in our ASAM Level 3.1 low-intensity residential facility located in Richmond, VA. We are currently seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to join our multidisciplinary team. Job Summary As a Behavioral Health Technician at StarCity Behavioral Health, you will play a vital role in providing peer-based support and structure to individuals navigating substance use and recovery from Substance Use Disorder. You'll help maintain a safe, recovery-oriented environment. As a Peer Recovery Specialist or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS), you will use your lived experience and training to guide and empower residents. Responsibilities Offer peer support and mentorship to residents, using lived experience to build trust and model recovery. Assist clients in adhering to daily routines and structured schedules. Utilize motivational interviewing and trauma-informed practices to encourage personal growth. Collaborate with clinical and support staff to ensure a unified approach to client care. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Support clients in developing life skills and navigating recovery challenges. Transport clients as needed to appointments and activities (must hold valid driver's license). Maintain clear professional boundaries and uphold StarCity's standards of care and ethics. Qualifications

MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN A DBHDS LICENSED PROGRAM. MUST POSSESS PRS, CPRS, OR BE WILLING TO TAKE PRS TRAINING.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required). Basic computer skills and comfort using electronic documentation systems (required). Strong communication, interpersonal, and writing skills. Medical Technologist (Med Tech) certification. Familiarity with trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing . Demonstrated empathy, patience, and the ability to remain nonjudgmental. Proven ability to maintain professional boundaries while sharing lived experience. Organized and reliable with strong documentation habits. Comfortable working in a residential setting with a diverse client population. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team . Prior experience in a Level 3.1 or other residential treatment setting is a plus. Schedule Full-time and part-time shifts available. Must be available for evening, weekend, and/or holiday shifts as needed.
