Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our inpatient behavioral health treatment team. The BHT plays an essential role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment for patients throughout their treatment experience. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with individuals receiving behavioral health services and can remain professional, attentive, and calm in a fast-paced treatment setting.

Schedules Available:

Every other weekend, 2:00pm - 10:30pm Every other weekend, 10:00pm - 6:30am Key Responsibilities Monitor patients and maintain a safe and therapeutic treatment environment. Conduct required safety checks and maintain awareness of patient locations. Observe patient behaviors and promptly communicate changes in physical or mental status to clinical and medical staff. Build professional, supportive relationships with patients while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Assist with new patient admissions, orientations, intakes, and belongings inventories. Complete accurate shift reports, checklists, and other required documentation. Support patient transportation to appointments, meetings, outings, and other approved destinations as needed. Assist with de-escalation and patients considering leaving treatment AMA/ACA. Facilitate orientation meetings and approved non-clinical groups when trained. Supervise drug/alcohol screenings and document results in the EMR as required. Assist the clinical, medical, and operations teams with patient-related needs throughout the shift. These responsibilities reflect the patient monitoring, admissions, transportation, de-escalation, safety-check, and documentation duties outlined in the provided position description. Qualifications High school diploma or GED strongly preferred. 1+ year of behavioral health experience preferred. Experience in an inpatient, residential, mental health, substance use disorder, or dual-diagnosis setting is a plus. Strong communication, observation, and de-escalation skills. Ability to maintain professionalism and patient confidentiality. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Availability to work assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay:

$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
