Job Description
Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a nonprofit health care organization whose mission is to provide exceptional health care to people facing access barriers through clinical programs and education. We provide integrated health care services including medical, dental, and behavioral health through our 20 outpatient health centers. We deliver care with our strong "Hospitality" culture. Our organization has over 800 employees and serves more than 74,300 patients annually in the Pikes Peak and East Central regions of Colorado. Our service area covers 14 counties, from the front range to the Kansas border, with locations throughout Colorado Springs, Fountain, Divide, Limon, and Strasburg. Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC). Compensation (Pay): $123,071.52 to $151,362.45/annually, based on experience. Plus a $10,000 Sign On Bonus. •Other compensation may include signing bonuses, rural differentials, and relocation reimbursement.

Peak Vista is seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife to join our team of excellent practitioners. Must be licensed to practice in Colorado or be eligible to obtain a CO license. Prescriptive authority preferred. Must be comfortable in providing care to all age groups and be able to serve in a full-time capacity in our Women's Health Center. This position is an excellent opportunity for career growth, providing a wide variety of opportunities and excellent mentorship. Provide full scope of midwifery services including GYN services throughout the life cycle, prenatal education and support, attending childbirth, providing encouragement during labor and delivery, and supervising the general care of women and children directly after birth. Provides care to women during normal pregnancies and deliveries and calls on obstetricians or other physicians if complications develop. A minimum of 2 years of full scope midwifery experience is required to be considered for this position.Essential Job Responsibilities:
Performs the nursing duties related to midwifery including gynecological exams, preconception care, prenatal care, labor and delivery care, care after birth, newborn care, disease prevention, family planning, health maintenance counseling, and menopausal management. Educates women about different types of care available and encourages them to enhance their pregnancy by being involved. Emphasizes patient education, active participation, clear communication between the provider and the woman, and an individualized health care experience. Advocates birth education, natural childbirth, and the participation of the entire family. Writes prescriptions as needed. Serves as OB/GYN team member working closely with physicians and other staff to ensure healthy pregnancies and deliveries. Provides emotional and social support to all of our patients. Oversees the medical care of assigned pregnant patients under the supervision of a physician. Provides support to mother and family. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus. Acquire and maintain Active Inpatient Medical Staff privileges at a partner hospital system Cover at least one 24 hour inpatient coverage shift per week in conjunction with a physician team member. Additionally, because Peak Vista is a FQHC, the provider's malpractice insurance is covered through FTCA government funds. •Successful candidates will complete pre-employment screening; which includes, but is not limited to a Criminal Background check.
