Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive women's health and reproductive patient care, including prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, and gynecological services. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and medical history reviews focused on women's health and reproductive care. Provide prenatal education, monitor fetal development via sonography (ultrasound), and manage labor & delivery assistance with expertise in obstetric procedures. Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, venipuncture, specimen collection/processing, and assist with obstetric surgeries when necessary. Prescribe medications related to women's health, reproductive issues, pain management, and childbirth support following appropriate protocols. Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on care plans for maternal health, family planning, discharge planning, and outpatient follow-up. Support out-of-hospital births and provide postpartum care that emphasizes family-centered approaches and patient education on reproductive health topics. Requirements Valid certification as a Nurse Midwife (Certified Nurse Midwife - CNM) with current licensure to practice in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience in hospital settings with OB/GYN or maternal health focus; experience in labor & delivery units strongly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in suturing, obstetric surgery assistance, ultrasound (sonography), and advanced patient assessment techniques. Knowledge of physiology related to pregnancy, childbirth processes, anatomy, and medical terminology pertinent to women's health. Skilled in using EMR/EHR systems for documentation; familiarity with CPT coding for procedures and ICD coding for diagnoses is essential. Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients on family planning options and reproductive health issues while ensuring client privacy under HIPAA standards. Ability to perform clinical procedures such as IV insertion, venipuncture, specimen collection/processing, injection administration, and pain management strategies. Out-of-hospital birth experience or inpatient experience is desirable; CPR/BLS certification required at the time of hire. Knowledge of maternal public health initiatives (NCQA standards) and acute care practices enhances your ability to deliver comprehensive care.
