Job Description
Provides direction and leadership in the care of patients;functions as a resource person to allied health professionals and thecommunity; interprets nurse midwifery practice to allied health professionals andthe community; and strives to improve nursing practice through clinicaleducation research and the nursing process. The Certified Nurse Midwife, functioning with collaborative medicaldirection, assumes the responsibility for direct supervision and management ofselected normal patients throughout the maternity cycle, antepartum,intrapartum, postpartum, neonatal, family planning and well-woman health carephases.
