Qualifications:

Degree :

Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.

Education :

Graduate from a certified nurse midwife education program accredited by the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM)

Certifications:

Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Board Certification :

Certified in the specialty required by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Certified Midwives obtain the national certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) and should have proficient management of routine and high-risk birth as outlined in the standards of practice with the American College of Nurse Midwives.

Licensure:

Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice license in a State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the

District of Columbia Experience:

Must have two (2) years' experience in the specialty within the last 3 years in comprehensive care management, patient-centered education, advanced skill and procedures. Core Duties Provide comprehensive primary care to women from menarche through menopause. Plan and manage prenatal, postpartum, well woman gynecologic, family planning and pre-conceptual care. Participate in the care of women with medical complications. Consultation, collaboration and referral with Obstetricians-Gynecologists. Manage the care of normal antepartum women to include teaching, counseling and support. Take a health history and perform and record the obstetrical physical evaluation. Collect, document, and evaluate patient data. Assess patient needs, formulate, and implement a plan of care for each patient consistently.
