A Music Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving music, instruments, and sound. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Position Overview:
As an Independent Contractor Music Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work with diverse clients across various diagnoses and settings. Whether you have a passion for working with children, adults, or specific populations, we will work with you to build a caseload aligned with your interests and expertise. You maintain full control over your schedule and client load, allowing for a flexible, sustainable work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized 1:1 music therapy sessions tailored to client goals Conduct assessments and develop goal-based treatment plans Implement evidence-based interventions and evaluate client progress Maintain accurate session data and documentation in compliance with professional standards Build and sustain strong therapeutic relationships with clients and their families
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy (required) MT-BC certification (required) Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and with a high degree of professionalism Reliable transportation for in-home and community-based sessions
