A Music Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving music, instruments, and sound. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Responsibilities Plan and facilitate appropriate MT sessions Complete session notes within company expectations Submit invoicing by company deadlines Strong communication skills with team and supervisors Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy from an AMTA-approved program Board Certification (MT-BC) required Strong musicianship and the ability to use a variety of instruments and vocal techniques in sessions Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate clients through evidence-based and individualized interventions Experience working with neurodiverse populations, individuals with disabilities, or behavioral health needs preferred Reliable transportation and ability to travel for community-based sessions
