Type of Position:
This position is performed fully on the campus of the University Medical Center Campus.- This position is: Commensurate PRN (pro re nata)
Work Schedule:
As needed.Temporary:
A staff member may serve in temporary status in a continuous appointment for no more than one year to meet an emergency or temporary need of the University. Employees in this classification will not be eligible for university benefits. Qualifications | Senior Music Therapist |Inpatient Acute Care Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or higher in a field related to the practice of Music Therapy.
- Current certification with CBMT as a Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT- BC) is required.
- 2+ years of experience as an Activity Therapist is necessary, with a high degree of understanding and skill in one or more areas of assigned responsibility.
- Demonstrates skills in clinical education abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Desirable Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as an Activity Therapist.
- 3+ years of experience in one or more areas of assigned responsibility.
- Demonstrates leadership abilities.
- Demonstrates experience as part of a multidisciplinary medical team.
- Experience with basic counseling skills, behavioral management, grief & loss, actively dying, anxiety, depression, or pain.
Inpatient Acute Care Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or higher in a field related to the practice of Music Therapy.
- Current certification with CBMT as a Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT- BC) is required.
- Entry level experience in Music Therapy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Desirable Qualifications:
- 1-3 Years of experience facilitating goal-oriented music therapy interventions.
- 1-3 Years of experience with music therapy evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation
- Demonstrated prioritization in patient care and effective time management.
- Ability to function as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Experience with basic counseling skills, behavioral management, grief & loss, actively dying, anxiety, depression, or pain.
