A Music Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving music, instruments, and sound. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Matter:
Deliver individual music therapy sessions tailored to patient preferences and goals Use music to address relaxation, pain management, emotional processing, developmental support, and end-of-life/bereavement needs Collaborate with patients, family members and other team members to align with the patient's overall care plan Qualifications for
Success:
Bachelor's degree in music therapy or related field Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC) from an AMTA-approved program Prior experience working with end-of life patients, or in a long-term care setting preferred Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to patient homes or hospice facilities. Ability to communicate fluently in English - both verbally and written Benefits for
