Job Description

Part-Time Music Therapist (MT-BC) - St. Louis, MO Christy Merrell Music Therapy (CMMT) is seeking a compassionate and dependable Music Therapist, MT-BC or board-certification eligible , to provide recurring group music therapy services at partner locations in St. Louis City and St. Louis County . This is a great opportunity for a music therapist looking to add consistent part-time work to an existing caseload or other employment. Candidates may be considered for the full schedule or for a portion of the available sessions.
Schedule Current opportunities include:
Tuesdays:
2:00-3:00 p.m. and 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the same St. Louis County location Two Tuesday evenings per month: 6:30-7:30 p.m., with one session in St. Louis City and one in St.
Louis County Thursdays:
10:00-11:00 a.m. at a St. Louis County location The position may begin as a three-month temporary assignment or continue as an ongoing contractor role if it is a good mutual fit. We hope to begin staffing sessions in September but have flexibility for the right candidate and can consider start dates through November. Responsibilities Plan and facilitate engaging, clinically appropriate group music therapy sessions Provide services to youth, families, caregivers, and/or pediatric populations Adapt interventions to participant and program needs Complete required session documentation in a timely manner Communicate professionally with CMMT leadership and community partner staff Maintain dependable attendance and arrive prepared for scheduled sessions Follow CMMT policies, professional standards, and confidentiality requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Music Therapy from an approved program MT-BC preferred; board-certification eligible candidates may also be considered Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently in community-based settings Reliable transportation to locations in St. Louis City and St. Louis County Experience with youth, families, pediatric populations, and/or group settings preferred Compensation $60-$75 per session , depending on the specific assignment, responsibilities, experience, and qualifications. This is an independent contractor position . Additional information regarding individual programs, specific locations, travel expectations, and applicable mileage reimbursement will be provided during the interview process.
