Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

00 Salary Level Experienced Position Type Full Time Education Level Graduate Degree Description The Allied Music Therapist will independently plan and facilitate music therapy groups, document client progress, and attend treatment team meetings. Draw from research in the field and previous experience to independently design therapeutic musical tasks that meet a variety of needs, interests, and abilities. Facilitate music therapy groups using a variety of methods. Assess client needs and interests as well as musical and non-musical behaviors at outset of treatment and establish individual therapeutic goals. Plan, review, and assess therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness as well as aid planning for future sessions. Observe, evaluate and document both client behavior and content of musical contributions in group progress notes, offering insight into psychological implications of music-making and verbal processing when applicable. Teach clients basic technical music skills, as needed to facilitate clients' therapeutic progress. Expand clients' music vocabulary, providing clients with a wider range of communication skills. Provide clients with exposure to various genres of music and a context for viewing and interpreting it through music analysis. Maintain functional guitar, keyboard, and vocal skills and use them in sessions as needed. Attend treatment team meetings as time allows in order to communicate clients' progress in music therapy to the team, and to remain informed in regard to clients' progress in other spheres. Schedule one-to-one sessions with individuals who may especially benefit from music therapy. Coordinate music therapy program with other therapy treatment programs. Order and maintain music supplies and equipment. Support clients by attending Agency functions (graduations, school dances, holiday events, etc.) as time allows. Additional music therapy-related duties as assigned. Your driver's license must be in good standing, with no recent suspensions or violations of careless/reckless driving or excessive speeding of more than 20 MPH, and no more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years. Must be able to drive to Wrightstown and Pennsauken to deliver services to programs.

Qualifications Education/Experience:
