A Music Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving music, instruments, and sound. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.
Music Therapist - Hospice - per diem Capital/Saratoga region Community Hospice is looking for a qualified Music Practitioner/Therapist to join our team! The Music Therapist will provide complimentary therapy services to all levels of care (hospitals, nursing homes, and patients' homes).

Responsibilities:
Responsible for direct care and evaluation of patients, with resultant formulation and implementation of treatment program as appropriate to the specific needs of that patient What you will need: A current license to practice as a Music Therapist Or Certified Music Practitioner in the state of New York required Prefer two years professional experience in music discipline; previous home care, hospice or health related experience important. Possession of a valid New York State driver's license and available automobile for travel throughout the service area. Experience working with computers, including laptops, email, cell phone and basic software programs along with confidence in providing electronic clinical notes and documentation regarding patient sessions. Pay Range:
$28.22 - $36.53 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
