Category Schools - Music Therapist Job Type Contract Bring your passion for music therapy to a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a vibrant educational environment near Houston, TX. This role is ideal for a certified Music Therapist eager to make a meaningful difference by engaging with school-aged children through music-based interventions. You will work one day per week from July 29, 2026, to May 27, 2027, providing services for a small group of students, giving you the chance to focus on individualized support and relationship building. Each day, you'll meet with 3-4 students—part of a 7-child caseload—allowing for impactful sessions tailored to their developmental and educational needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

Active national certification in Music Therapy required Successful completion of a background check and drug screen (district-provided onboarding) Previous experience in a school setting or pediatric environment preferred Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with educators and caregivers Approachable, creative, and flexible attitude to meet diverse student needs

Responsibilities:

Conduct music therapy sessions with assigned students every other week Develop individualized goals and treatment plans, focusing on social, emotional, and cognitive growth Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to track and report progress Maintain accurate documentation in alignment with district requirements Participate in required meetings and professional development as determined
