Category Schools - Music Therapist Job Type Contract Bring your creativity and passion for helping students thrive through music to a supportive school environment this upcoming academic year. This contract opportunity is located near Katy, TX and is perfect for dedicated Music Therapists seeking to make an impact with a small, focused caseload. You will engage with a diverse group of children and support their growth through the power of therapeutic music sessions.
Key Qualifications:
Active National Certification as a Music Therapist (required) Previous experience delivering music therapy in a school or pediatric setting preferred Comfort adapting music-based interventions to individual student needs Completion of district-required background check (fingerprints) and a drug screen prior to start date
Role Overview:
Provide music therapy services to a select group of 7 students, with sessions occurring every other week (approximately 3-4 students per day) Serve one day per week at one or more school sites (specific assignments TBD) Collaborate with educators and interdisciplinary team members to enhance IEP goals and tailor services for each child's developmental stage and learning style Document student progress, participate in meetings, and provide consultative support as needed Utilize a variety of musical instruments, methods, and creative movement to foster communication, self-expression, and emotional well-being in students This school-based contract runs from July 29, 2026 through May 27, 2027—offering you the flexibility of a one-day-a-week schedule while giving you the chance to leave a meaningful mark in students' lives.
