Category Schools - Music Therapist Job Type Contract Enhance the learning journey of students through the power of music! An experienced Music Therapist is sought for a contract opportunity serving schools in the greater Katy, TX area, beginning July 29, 2026, and continuing through May 27, 2027. This rewarding role focuses on supporting the educational and emotional development of children receiving music therapy services. Work one day per week with a manageable caseload of seven students, with sessions scheduled every other week—typically engaging with three to four students per day. The ideal candidate has prior experience delivering music therapy in educational settings and is passionate about helping children thrive through creative interventions.
Key Qualifications:
Active National Music Therapy Certification required Experience providing music therapy in schools or educational environments preferred Strong understanding of child development and individualized interventions Must successfully pass district-required fingerprint background check and drug screening
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group music therapy sessions to students as assigned Design and implement therapy plans based on student needs and IEP goals Maintain detailed progress notes and communicate with school staff and families when appropriate Collaborate with educators and multidisciplinary teams for holistic student support Adapt approaches for varying ages and abilities, focusing on social, emotional, and cognitive growth Benefit from a structured, low-caseload assignment that allows you to focus on impactful, hands-on therapy.
